How are you? These couple of weeks are some of the busiest of the year for retail shops. We barely got a chance to take a breath after Thanksgiving before we were thrown into Black Friday and Shop Small Saturday – we love that shopping local is becoming a holiday tradition with new and old customers! This Sunday (12/06) is Troy’s Victorian Stroll from 11am-5pm. It is such a fun event; the streets are open with live performances, caroling and food vendors, and of course the shopping! If you’ve never been, it should become a new yearly tradition. Make sure to stop in and say hello!
With certain furniture pieces, I look at them and know exactly what I want to do with them the minute I see them. With others… not so much! I let it sit and sit and almost give up. Then I get a determined spirit and decide it must be conquered. The last time I remember feeling that way with a piece of furniture was with my aunt’s Gray and White Hutch Makeover. Then came this hutch…Something about it left me questioning which way I should go with the design. Until I found this hardware:
Then I knew I wanted to go with black for sure! I also tried a new black that I REALLY love! It’s called Lincoln Cottage Black by Valspar. It has deep gray undertone. Something about it is unique and perfect! If you’d like to see how we paint furniture, check out our How to Paint Furniture post.
This hutch is for sale right now! We just brought it into the store last week. If you’d like to purchase it, please use our Contact Us form or stop by our store at 272 River Street, Troy, NY. I also added quite a few other new pieces to the store!
