Hi Friends,
We had am unexpectedly hard day on Friday. Just one normal happy morning that ended in the hospital… the scariest day of my life.
Harmony and Josh went with friends to a town park while I was getting the car worked on. They had just shuttled me home and John was out doing work deliveries.
My friend called to say Harmony fell off the diving board and hit her head then handed me off to the EMT on-site. He said they already called 911 and an ambulance was on its way.
I ran outside and asked Matt (who works for us) to throw me his keys. He so kindly gave them without any hesitation. Thanks Matt!!
I went as fast as I could but 10 minutes from the park got a call that they couldn’t wait any longer and she was headed to the hospital. THANK GOD John made it there before me as they were putting her in the ambulance and rode with her to the hospital!
I turned back around to head to the hospital. I don’t even remember much of the drive except that there was a couch in the middle lane of the highway that I had to swerve around.
I just kept praying and called a couple people to spread the word to pray.
When I arrived at the hospital, they weren’t there yet so I paced and prayed and paced and prayed.
When I walked in to see her, instant tears. It was the saddest thing I’d ever seen as a mom. I found out she was getting a running start for the dive on a 9 feet high diving board. While she was backing up, she went too far and fell backwards off the board down to the concrete. We think her head hit a step first and then her left side took most of the impact on the concrete.
Harmony and I cried and hugged. I tried to ask how everything happened so we knew what to have checked but she said talking about it made her sad and would just cry. She slowly told me more details all night and even now.
The grace part??? This could have been so much worse. All the doctors couldn’t believe how good she was for the fall she took! Two of the lifeguards at the pool were my good friends kids (thank you Emma and Sevi). Harmony told me how kind you both were and telling me about you was the first smile I saw on her face.
Harmony has a laceration at the top of her head that needed staples, has a concussion, and has huge bruising on her left side. But nothing is broken. Nothing. All the doctors kept saying she’s so lucky. I choose to believe God was watching over her and thank Him so much for a happy ending to this story.
We are home now. She’s sore but in good spirits!!
Harmony said to me the day it all happened, I’m so thankful we have God to give us strength on days like today. He makes it so much better. 💕💕 You’re right sweet Harmony Grace. So right. I know this isn’t the ending to everyones story, but I’m so grateful it’s the ending to ours today.
The transformation I want to show you today has no before pictures because it was just an empty building when I went to go look at it the first time. It had no windows and mostly just exterior walls. They haven’t announced the opening yet, but when they do I’ll be sure to share all the details with you.
These are small apartments in Albany that are upscale and adorable. We were chosen to do the interior design and also had the chance build some of the furniture in the space.
First we have the kitchen area… we mostly staged this and added a small table as the sofa table and eating are in this model apartment.
We also designed a small living room with a FunCycled mid century dresser as an entertainment center and custom made sign.
We also built a custom herringbone headboard with attached lights for the bedroom.
We didn’t install the bathroom, but we did stage it. It’s so beautiful I had to share some of the details with you!

Thank GOD he was looking after Harmony! I am so relived to know she is ok and in good spirits! My heart was racing while reading your blog. xoxo
Hello Sarah, I have been in your shop several times and love what I have purchased. As a mom, I want to just say I know how down to your bones scary your news about Harmony had to be. I got the call 3 years ago that no one ever wants to get. My son was in a heretic car accident, I won’t give you all the details, they are too overwhelming, but I cannot day enough about the power of prayer, individually and collectively. I believe my son is alive today because of those prayers. He has a traumatic brain injury but is quite highly functional, so I want to urge you to have your daughter followed up with a neurologist due to her concussion. Both Albany Med and Sunnyview were amazing in their expertise and care of my son. My very best to you both, and God bless! Pat
Thank you so much for this sweet note!! Harmony just had her final check up after everything and is doing really well!! So thankful for her protection and health! 100% agree about the power of prayer! <3 I'm so sorry to hear about your son. I hope he's doing well now!
