How the cabinet painting cost calculator works
This calculator applies FunCycled’s actual pricing with a minimum for any kitchen. Next, it compares that estimate with a typical range for new cabinets in a kitchen your size. As a result, you get a realistic side-by-side picture in about two minutes.
How much does it cost to paint kitchen cabinets?
Most mid- to large-size kitchens we paint run $5,000 to $7,000, while smaller kitchens start at $3,500. However, your exact price depends on your door and drawer count, plus any extras such as crown molding, a second color or an island update. For a firm number, simply send us a few photos and we’ll put together a free itemized quote.

- Cabinet boxes brushed and rolled by hand in your home
- Professional cabinet paint, such as Benjamin Moore Advance or water-based lacquer
- Cabinet undersides painted and holes filled
- Doors, drawers and hardware reinstalled
- A complimentary 30-minute color consultation once you book
Also, please note that we don’t paint the inside of cabinet boxes, except behind glass doors.
Cabinet painting cost vs. replacing your cabinets
If your cabinet boxes are solid, painting usually gives you a fresh look for a fraction of what new cabinets cost. In addition, the work typically takes one to two weeks rather than a full remodel. On the other hand, if your cabinets are badly damaged or the layout no longer works for you, replacement may be the better fit. Once we see your photos, we’ll tell you which option makes more sense.
