Hi Friends!
I’m so excited to share this makeover with you. I absolutely love redoing tiny spaces and our half bath was one of those spaces in our Repurposed Idea House. I love that you can splurge a bit and sometimes need to create one of a kind pieces to make it work in the space. This bathroom was so small, I couldn’t even get a good picture of it. Here’s the only one I have though:
We ended up ripping out the walls and insulating them and then adding white shiplap. I wanted to keep this room light and airy. The biggest change to make the space feel larger was building the sliding barn door and taking off the door that opened INTO the bathroom. It helped so much!!
My friend Carrie mentioned the idea of adding Hi to the floor and I absolutely loved it! I knew I had to right away! This is the cute little detail that makes a small space special.
We also had to find a very tiny vanity because anything other than that wouldn’t work in this space. Antiques are really hard to find in petite sizes so off I went to the “normal” stores with a tape measure to find a piece that would fit into the space. We found this adorable metal cabinet at Hobby Lobby and then had to alter it for piping, tung oil it to be able to handle the moisture from the sink, add the vessel and sink top, and shorten most of the drawers so they fit in front of the pipes. It took quite a bit of work, but it was worth it!
To warm up the space, I added wainscoting to the ceiling as well!
We also spray painted the radiator and pipes black!
Above the sink we added a small mirror and black light fixture as well.
Next month, I’m hoping we’ll be able to share the before and afters of our new kitchen! Sign up for our weekly newsletter so you don’t miss out by adding your email in the little box below my picture.
Happy FunCycling Friends,
Sarah ;)
