Hi Friends!
How are you? I hope you’re enjoying life to its fullest.
We have been busy, busy, getting ready to open the store front on November 22nd!! Would you mark your calendars and plan to stop by and see us that day? It would mean so very much to us. Some exciting news in the store front department – all the interior shelving, dividing walls and check out area are going to be upcycled pieces. That means a lot to me… it’s the little things.
You all made my week by participating in our first ever Furniture Fundraising Auction to help eliminate poverty by funding entrepreneurs in other developing nations. Remember on the 31rst day of the month until October 2015, we’ll be auctioning one of our custom furniture pieces. Last month’s auction went great!! You bid more than the retail amount for the piece and that says to me that you care about others and care about what we care about. It means the world. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Also, our landlord graciously allowed us to stage a few furniture pieces in the window display for Troy’s night out. Setting up the windows was soooo much fun!!
And on a personal note, my dear friend Jo Ann surprised me with one final birthday celebration. Horse back riding at Mohonk Mountain House. If you’ve never been there, it’s a must see place. I think pictures are worth 1,000 words so here are just a few from our trip.
And for the furniture makeover… because that’s why you’re here, right? I wanted to share this aqua vanity makeover from a few months ago. There’s something about a vanity that is just absolutely stunning to me once it’s painted. Here it is before.
We custom mixed a few colors to get the blue that we wanted. If you want to see how we paint furniture, check out our How To Paint Furniture post. After we painted it, we lightly distressed it. Lalalove, right?
Oh, and if you look below, you can now see that you can comment on our blog without a Facebook account. So many have said they don’t have Facebook so we updated it to make it more comment friendly. ;) So… please leave me some love. Your comments make my day (especially if they’re nice – lol).
The furniture photos are by Chelsea Bos Photography. Have a great week friends! Thanks so much for stopping by. :)
Having fun upcycling!
Sarah ;)

Sooo excited for Nov 22nd!!! I can’t wait! Love the front windows ;)
Thanks so much, Stephanie! :) <3
Oh how exciting — love the store front! Also the Mohonk Mountain House is just beautiful. If you ever get the chance to stay over night, do it! My husband and I went years ago and it was relaxing. We had a lovely brunch and just walked around their gorgeous property. I am glad you had fun! Love the horses!!!
Thanks so much, Stacy! I can’t wait for you to come see the store and look forward to catching up with you then. It really was such a beautiful place!! :)
