Hi Friends!

Last week we wrapped up a kitchen makeover that started back in January! In 2 1/2 months our client, Sarah, had her dream kitchen without moving walls or buying new cabinets. First, Sarah started by booking her week with us for the kitchen cabinet painting and then also chose to hire me to do a design consult. I always recommend this option because I can see the other adjoining rooms and learn the clients overall style to help make the kitchen transformation blend with the rest of the house.

Here’s how the kitchen looked the day I went for the design consult.

During her one hour consult, we were able to pick out new lighting, counter style, talk through the hardware options, and make the island design plan. Sarah really loved a green island inspiration photo she saw so we went with it! I love being a little bit bold with an island color choice because it’s not hard to change if you decide a couple years down the road that you want to. I encouraged her to consider gold hardware because I love how gold and green compliment each other. She went for it and I couldn’t be happier for her!

Hi Friends!

How are you? I hope you are enjoying this warm weather and the fact that summer vacation is coming up quickly. As many of you do, I now start juggling full time mom and full time business owner. It can seem overwhelming at best on days. Mostly because I love being with the kids and I love what I do so doing both well feels almost impossible for the next three months. My goal is to give it my best and have lots of grace toward the kids and myself. I can’t wait to make memories with them and make homes beautiful one client at a time.

For this week’s featured makeover, I wanted to share a kitchen cabinet painting job that we finished back in April. This kitchen took me some time to figure out the right colors and finishes for. There were a couple of things to think through when picking the color. Originally our clients wanted beige because the counter has beige and the tile is cream. But with the walls being beige, I felt like it would be to much. So, I thought it over and did some research and encouraged them to paint the walls a dark gray and then go with a light cream to brighten everything up.

Here’s the kitchen before:

We ended up painting the cabinet with Benjamin Moore’s Ballet White OC-9 and sprayed them with a protective clear coat. We painted the island Benjamin Moore’s Stormy Monday and glazed the island to give it more visual interest. They took the color Stormy Monday and darkened it to the next shade darker for the walls. I absolutely love the contrast.

We also changed out the hardware which made a big difference in this space.
