How are you? Did you all survive spring break? My favorite quote of the week is:

      “Spring break is like a trailer for a scary movie (summer break) that I don’t want to see but have to watch anyway.” -Scary Mommy

Don’t get me wrong, I love spending time with my kiddos. I just remembered in this one week how hard it is to juggle two full time jobs. Also, it reminds me that I need to find some summer camps for them so I can be focused while I’m with them and working hard while they are at camp.

For this week’s makeover, I want to show you a kitchen that we wrapped up in March. This is a typical oak cabinet kutchen that could use a little updating. With oak cabinets, you can always see some of the grain even after painting, but the transformation is still so dramatic. We did nothing to this kitchen except paint the cabinets and build a barn door for the pantry. Here’s the kitchen and pantry before:

Let’s start with the barn door. Did you know we custom build those? Here’s one classic design that made the whole kitchen pop!

We painted the kitchen cabinets with Benjamin Moore’s Advanced paint in Navajo White. We also sprayed it with a water based clear coat for extra protection and durability.
