Wood Accent Walls Installed – Tuesday’s Treasures

  • Hi Friends!

How’s your week going? My sister and her family came to visit last week! We had a fun time having the whole family together for the first time in four years.

This week I want to show you an interior design project that we’ve been working on over the last few weeks. Nancy and Jason bought a traditional house that was adorable but they wanted to add some special finishes that would give the house more of an modern/industrial look. I love how wood accent walls can change the look of a space! In this case, we used rough cut lumber and stained them different colors. We stained some with Early American stain by Minwax, some with Early American and Weathered Gray stain, and some with a light gray paint. Then we took the orbital sander to the wood to give it a distressed finish.

Here it is in the bathroom:

They still want to change out the light above the sink, but I don’t have any pictures of that yet!

We also did the same wood treatment on the living room wall! We made alterations to the mantel, added a beam, and installed shelving! I love this transformation!

  1. Love the fireplace wall! I find the white shelves too busy & distracting & they have nothing in them yet. Black might make them blend in more.
