Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours uses cookies and similar tools that collect some information automatically when you visit, such as the pages you view, how you got to our site (for example a Google search, an ad or a link with a tracking code), your browser and device type, approximate location based on your IP address, and the date and time of your visit.
We use these tools on our site:
- Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager), to understand how many people visit and which pages are helpful.
- Google Ads, to measure whether our ads lead to inquiries and to show our ads to people who have visited our site before (called remarketing). Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to show ads based on your past visits to our site and other websites.
- PixelYourSite, a website tool that records things like the page you first landed on and where your visit came from, to help us understand which marketing works.
- Our online shop (WooCommerce), which uses cookies to remember your cart and where your visit came from.
- Google reCAPTCHA and Akismet, which check form submissions to block spam. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Instagram and share buttons, which may load content or scripts from Instagram and AddToAny when you view pages that show them.
Affiliate links
Some of our blog posts include affiliate links, such as links through ShopMy and the Amazon Associates program. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. When you click an affiliate link, you leave our site, and the affiliate network and the store may use cookies to track the click and credit the sale. Those companies’ own privacy policies apply on their sites. We do not receive your name, payment details or other personal information from your purchase. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

Text messages
If you give us your phone number, we may call or text you about your inquiry, quote or project. We will only send you marketing or promotional text messages if you have separately agreed to receive them, and agreeing is never required to buy anything or work with us. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop texts, or HELP for help. We do not sell or share your phone number with other companies for their marketing.
Emails
Our newsletter is sent through Mailchimp. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
