If you live in Albany or the Capital Region and your cabinets are solid but dated, painting them is one of the biggest kitchen updates you can make for the money. Here are our real numbers, what changes the price, and what you get.

What changes the price?
Every kitchen is different, so we price yours from your door and drawer count. These are the things that move the number up or down:
- How many doors and drawers you have. This is the biggest factor. A small galley kitchen costs less than a big kitchen with an island and a pantry wall.
- An island in a second color. A two-tone kitchen takes extra prep and paint.
- Extra details. Adding crown molding, Shaker trim on flat doors, new hidden hinges or new door fronts adds to the total.
- Distressing or special finishes. A hand-distressed look takes more time than a smooth finish.
- Changes after we start. Picking your color before day one keeps your project on budget.

What’s included
- A free itemized quote
- Doors and drawers removed and sprayed in our shop with a professional sprayer
- Cabinet boxes painted by hand in your home, so we don’t make a mess of your house
- Painting the undersides of the cabinets and filling holes
- Putting your doors, drawers and hardware back on
- A free 30-minute color consult once your kitchen is booked
Not included: the inside of the cabinet boxes (except behind glass doors).

Painting vs. replacing your cabinets
New cabinets usually cost $10,000 to $50,000, and a full remodel can keep your kitchen torn up for weeks. If your cabinet boxes are solid, painting gives you a new look for a fraction of that, in 1 to 2 weeks, and keeps your old cabinets out of the landfill.
Painting isn’t the right fit for every kitchen. If your cabinets are falling apart or you want to change the layout, replacing may make more sense. We’ll tell you honestly which one we’d pick.

How the process works
- Get your quote. Send your door and drawer count, your address and a few photos through our Contact page. We’ll reply with a free estimate.
- Pick your color. Once you book, you get a free 30-minute color consult.
- We paint. We take the doors and drawers to our shop to spray them, and paint the cabinet boxes in your home.
- We put it all back. Doors, drawers and hardware go back on, usually within 1 to 2 weeks.
- Let it cure. The paint keeps hardening for about 30 days, so go easy on it that first month.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to paint kitchen cabinets in Albany, NY?

What towns do you serve?
We’ve been painting kitchen cabinets since 2012 for homeowners in Albany and towns within about an hour, including Troy, Saratoga Springs, Clifton Park, Latham, Delmar and Schenectady.
