2021 Repurpose Project Competition

Hi Friends!

BIG NEWS! In honor of Earth Day in April, we’re calling on all our awesome FunCyclers to join the repurposing movement and get a chance to win free things! It’s winter in upstate, with not much to do thanks to COVID, so why not take the extra time you have and repurpose something?? Then share it with us! We want everyone to come together and inspire others to reuse and recycle.

It doesn’t have to be furniture, just find something old and create something new! Please send before and after pictures of your repurposed creation to repurpose@funcycled.com by March 31st. We’ll then post all of those photos on our page for you to share – the most liked photo will win the People’s Choice Award. We’ll also have a panel of judges who will pick the Grand Prize and the Close Contender award. Winners will be announced the week of Earth Day.

Let’s do something fun together! —> Please tell your friends. —> Remember to take before and after pictures. —> Have fun doing it! A huge thanks to Maria’s Troy, T and J Soaps, Spill’n the Beans Coffeehouse & Bistro, and Market Block Books for helping by sponsoring this event.

For inspiration, I thought I’d share some fun repurposed ideas I found online. Please click on the photo for the source of the image.

Recycle Legos into jewelry – Photo from Etsy
Use and old window to create something else! See Country Living for ideas.
Make plastic yarn (if you can get your hands on plastic shopping bags). Inspo Link
Make slippers from an old sweater: See how to here!
Have old jeans laying around? Turn them into something. Here are some ideas.

Or even take a sewing machine and turn it into a sink. Check out how we did it here.

Please join me for this! It’s a great thing to have fun doing with friends, teach your kids about, or even to just fill a quiet evening at home alone.

Thanks for being the best FunCycler’s around!
