Kitchen Design and Cabinet Painting Project

Hi Friends!

How was your weekend? We had a festive weekend with the Saratoga Victorian Walk and the Troy Victorian Stroll! It was so much fun!

I’m really excited to share this week’s kitchen makeover with you! One thing that sets us apart from other kitchen cabinet painting companies is that we also do interior design. So when we come to your house to paint cabinets, we’re not just thinking about what colors would work for your space, we can also make design recommendation to completely update the kitchen. With this project, Amy started by hiring me to do a design consult to help them pick flooring, counters, hardware, paint color, etc. After all of those details were selected, we did the kitchen cabinet painting for them and added new hardware. They had a contractor who did the rest of the changes to the kitchen.

Here’s the kitchen before:

We painted the kitchen main cabinets and peninsula Benjamin Moore’s Simply White. We also added new hardware, and sprayed everything with a protective clear coat.

Could your kitchen use an update? We’d love to help!! We can help pick out colors, finishes, product and do the cabinet painting, tiling, add new hardware. You can use our Contact Us form to request our design services or a quote for painting your kitchen. Please check out other kitchen projects on our For Sale page. We’ll need to see a picture of your kitchen, a list of how many doors and drawers there are, and where you are located to email you an estimate. This change ups the value of your home and gives you a whole new look at a fraction of the cost of new kitchen cabinets!

Kitchen Cabinet Painted Hushed Hue by Benjamin Moore

Hi Friends!

How’s your week going? We just got back from a beautiful trip to France and London. I’ll do a post about the trip soon, but this week I have to keep it short while I’m playing catch up at work.

We recently did a kitchen makeover that I really loved and wanted to share photos for you!

Here’s the kitchen before:

We painted the kitchen cabinets with Benjamin Moore Hushed Hue #1520, added new hardware, and sprayed them with a protective clear coat. The client did a beautiful job taking care of the rest: new tile, new hood, beautiful island, moved the sink, altered some of the cabinets. Wow! What an amazing transformation!! You can barely tell it’s the same kitchen.

Huge Kitchen Transformed with Paint – Tuesday’s Treasures

Hi Friends!

I’m so excited to share this week’s makeover with you because it’s a kitchen that feels like brand new thanks to painting the cabinet. I also love all the colors we’ve been asked to paint cabinets this year. This is a new color for us and it may be helpful to see on a wall, too:

Wetherburn's Blue CW-580 | Benjamin Moore

Here’s the kitchen before:

Aubrey reached out to us because she just bought this house and moved to the Albany area. She wanted it to feel traditional, but she also wanted a pop of color throughout the space. She really liked the idea of wainscoting on the backsplash instead of tile, and I encouraged her to have it painted the same color as the cabinets. We went back and forth on cabinet color for a bit before we finalized the details.

We painted the kitchen cabinets Wetherburn’s Blue by Benjamin Moore, painted the island Lincoln Cottage Black by Valspar and lightly distressed the island, added new hardware, installed wainscoting as the backsplash, and sprayed them with a protective clear coat.

Painting Maple Kitchen Cabinets Benjamin Moore Black

Hi Friends,

How are you all? I hope you had a nice weekend! It’s been a little rough over here because I’m going on 2 weeks with kidney stones. The pain is no joke! This weekend was also our 10th anniversary celebration at FunCycled. Thank you for all who came out to celebrate with us! It was so nice seeing everyone and reflect on all the blessings over the last 10 years.

My brother, Jesse, snapped a few photos for me during the celebration so I thought I share some of those with you.

Here’s to 10 years!
One of my favorite things about FunCycled is the friends we’ve made over the years.
Friends like Katie and Dan who went from customers to dear friends!
Thankful for Monica’s support every step of the way. Even when she couldn’t be at the event she sent flowers.
My brother and his family have helped me so much throughout the years. He created our website,
gave me my first professional camera, and offered so much helpful/advice along the way.

For this week’s makeover, I’m excited to share this kitchen makeover. Mostly because it’s different from the typical kitchen makeovers we do because Tim and Sumer went with Black paint for the cabinets.

Here’s the kitchen before:

We painted the kitchen cabinets Black by Benjamin Moore and sprayed them with a protective clear coat. We also installed shiplap on the back of the island, added new hardware, and took the scalloping above the kitchen sink down and wrapped the crown moulding on either side of those upper cabinets.

If you’d like to see how we paint Kitchen Cabinets, click here to check out our video on YouTube.

Painted Grandfather Clock

Hi Friends,

How are you? I hope you’re doing well! We started all the things Christmas season over the last week. The house is decorated, we enjoyed the local Victorian Strolls (Saratoga and Troy).

Cut down and carried out our Christmas tree at Reilly’s Farm 149 Clarks Chapel Road. Nassau, NY 12123
Saratoga Victorian Stroll with the Fischer’s
Fresh Wreath from Reilly’s Farm
Christmas Porch Decorations
Antique sleigh and ice-skates for our porch.

So beautiful, isn’t it?

For this week’s makeover, I wanted to share a grandfather clock that we recently redid. Here’s the clock before:

When you paint a clock, you have to be very careful to take out or tape off all the mechanics so nothing gets paint on it. We did that with this piece and then painted it with Benjamin Moore’s Midnight Dream 2129-10.

If you want to see how we paint furniture, check out our How to Paint Furniture post. Ready for the after photos?

Painting a Small Kitchen Hale Navy

Hi Friends!

How was your weekend? I was able to go on a quick weekend with a group of 17 ladies up north. We stayed on Mirror Lake. The view was beautiful and I had time to work a bit and relax a bit! If you have never been to Mirror Lake in Upstate Ny, I highly recommend it. It’s a beautiful spot and only about 2 hours from Albany. There are quant shops, beautiful hotels, and delicious food.

This week, I want to share a makeover on a small kitchen that we recently finished. I like it because I love that the clients with with a dark blue cabinet color. People always say dark colors make small kitchens feel smaller, I don’t always agree with that. I feel like the darker color in this kitchen made it feel richer and larger.

Here are the before pictures for you:

We painted the kitchen cabinets Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore and sprayed them with a protective clear coat.

Delray Gray Painted Oak Kitchen Cabinets

Hi Friends!

How are you? I hope you had a nice weekend! We had a lovely weekend – not overly jam packed which was nice. We set our alarms for 6am on Saturday morning to get ready and make an hour drive to meet our friends at Buck Hill Farm for breakfast. We’ve been wanting to go for about a year and finally were able to set a date with friends that work for both of us.

On Buck Hill farm, they raise pigs, chickens, and make maple maple syrup and honey. They serve breakfast only on Saturday or Sunday and most things on the menu are from their very own farm. I tried my first ever glass of maple milk. The sausage was so delicious. I had blackberry pancakes and sausage, John and Josh had sausage and gravy over biscuits , and they even had gluten free pancakes for Harmony. Win for all of us! If you’re up for a morning drive, I definitely recommend giving this a try.

For this week’s makeover, I wanted to share a kitchen makeover from this past summer. This oak kitchen cabinet style is pretty common in this area. Check out how you can make a huge transformation by painting the cabinets a medium gray color.

Here’s the kitchen before:

Demo Day Magnolia Painted Bedroom Set with White Washed Top

Hi Friends!

How are you? We are doing really well!

This week, I wanted to share a bedroom set makeover that I really love. We took this set:

The dresser and armoire both looked like giant faces to me. I just couldn’t take it. Hahha So we removed what looked like the nose and eyebrows on the dresser and the eyebrows on the armoire.

Then we painted each piece with Magnolia’s Demo Day, sanded and stained the tops and the front of the legs with a white wash, and added new hardware.

If you want to see how we paint furniture, check out our How to Paint Furniture post. Ready for the after photos?

This bedroom set is available now to purchase! Head to our Shop Page to check them out!
